This Stays in the Room – Chair Workshop

This Stays in the Room is a collective creation theatre piece that used the themes of shame and forgiveness as a springboard for creation. The play is based on truth and addresses the themes as well as the idea of how a story changes as it gets repeated over time.

This exhibit, in part, will contain 50 chairs that will be used by the audience. The workshop will take place over two evening sessions from 6:30-9:30 PM. The focus of the first workshop will be to discuss the themes, generate images and text using personal stories as inspiration and begin to design and create the chair. Interactive group activities will be used to initiate this creative process. The second evening will focus on completing the chair. Each participant will be supplied with a chair as a base. Other materials and tools will also be provided for adding to or deconstructing the chair.

All chairs will remain the property of Horseshoes & Hand Grenades Theatre.
