February Workshops with Jordan Martin

Workshop 1: Born in Flames – Screening & Coloring Workshop

Thursday, February 16th, 6:30pm

We will watch the 1983 independent feminist cult feature Born in Flames and color in Jordan Martin’s coloring pages inspired by the film. Born in Flames is set in a future where after the “Social Democratic War of Liberation”, a peaceful socialist revolution, a group of women decide to organize & rebel against sexism, racism, and homophobia within the post-revolutionary society.

Workshop 2: Teaching to Transgression Poetry Zine Workshop

Thursday, February 23rd, 6:30pm

Participants will be instructed in a writing workshop implementing exercises inspired by various transgressive feminist teachers. The culminating poems will be compiled into a community zine to decorate and share after the workshop.
