Mad Pride Group Show

BC artists were invited to participate in a non-juried call for work addressing mental health issues, and art and healing. The objective of this month-long group show is to contribute to dialogue on mental health human rights through the sharing and showcasing of artistic expression.  All artwork is responding to one or more of Gachet?s Basis of Unity statements.

Mad Pride Artists:  Benny, Sharon Burns, Geoff Callahan, Gillian Cole, Josh Conrad, Fredrick Cummings, Leef Evans, Suzanne Firth, Yaho-Hanan Fiwchuk, Bernadine Fox, Jeff Gibson,  Margaret Griffin, Rose Heart, Marcien Hildebrandt, Ayaz Kamani, Montana King, Ariel Kirk-Gushowaty, Bev Knight, Serena Lee, Peter Lojewski, Quin Martins, Laurie Marshall, Mike McNeeley, Shelagh Moore, Scarlett Pary, Rose Poon, Brenda Poaps, W.N Pope, Terry Starr, Russ Staniforth, Kevin Stewart, Priscillia Tait, Karen Ward, Lisa Walker, John Walkins and Johnney Watts.

Some of the objectives of Mad Pride include:

– Challenging stigmas of people living with mental health issues.
– Providing a discussion forum and education on these issues.
-To celebate the rich contributions of artists in our community, and their right to self expression and health.

Join us July 18th for the Mad Pride Cabaret co-presented with West Coast Mental Health Network, featuring the following artists:
Angela Zenk, Bernadine Fox, Rose Heart, Stephen Long, Robert Gardiner, Wendy Chew, Pauline Leah Rankin, Kier Nicoll  Gillian Cole and Bob Krzyzewski.
