The Drag King Project – Toni Latour

Presented in association with SWARM7: Vancouver’s Annual Festival of Artist-Run Culture.

Latour worked with Vancouver drag troupes DK United and $3 Bill.  In addition to photography, Through a multidisciplinary approach, the work actively explores ripe possibilities within the diverse and integrated queer cultures of  Vancouver.

The Drag King Project includes video documentation of live performances, and a textual component derived from audio interviews of both troupes. Photographs and audio will be in this Vancouver exhibit, with a larger body of work and media travelling with this show to Alberta.

Latour is a multidisciplinary artist, and has exhibited her work nationally and internationally since 1994.
