T-shirt Design Contest: Call to Artists!
It’s time to select a design to use for our new T-shirts! We’re calling for submissions from any BC artists who wish to share their designs. We’re looking for designs that represent Gallery Gachet and the self-taught/dissident arts community to be featured on one of 3 t-shirts that will be sold in the Salon Shop this year.
We will be selecting 3 designs from 3 categories:
Get your designs to us by Friday July 6th at NOON.
As we collect design submissions, we will be featuring them here. Visit us each week to start considering which designs you’d like to see on a Gachet t-shirt.
Following the July 6th deadline, a shortlist of designs will be chosen by Gachet, and will be displayed in the Salon shop and online for people to vote on.
These final designs will go live at gachet.org on July 14th, international “Mad Pride” day of resistance. So, if you made the top picks, tell your friends all about your designs and invite them to vote on your submission!
The final selection for the Collective and Public design categories will be announced Friday, August 10th at Noon.
The winning designs will be featured on 3 t-shirts to be sold in the Gachet Salon Shop starting in the fall.
1. Create a design for Gallery Gachet!
Gallery Gachet believes that art is a means for survival, self-expression and health. The designs that will be selected for our shortlist will have considered the Gallery’s Basis of Unity or the theme of Mad Pride.
2. Ready to submit a design?
Artwork must not be submitted any later than July 6th at Noon. There are two ways to submit a design.
By email:
Please include your name, web address (if you have one), and any social network information that you would like to promote (such as Twitter, Facebook ,etc), and your design. Please specify which category you would like to be considered for. Below are templates provided to prepare your design presentation files.
You can also send art not in a template, but please ensure that it is 300 dpi and in CMYK. We’ll decide how best to place it in the template.

Email: tshirt@gachet.org
Visit the gallery to submit:
All submissions are limited to maximum size of 11” x 17” (so that designs can be scanned). For best quality transfers, please use a flat, non-textured surface to present your work. When submitting art for consideration, please ensure that you fill out a design release form (available at the Gallery).
All designs will be modified to add a Gachet watermark to ensure that the artwork is not used without the artist’s permission elsewhere. It will be the responsibility of the artists to pick up submissions 2 weeks following the final design selection announcement.
3. Come back to vote!
Keep checking back to see new design submission weekly!
These final designs will go live at gachet.org on July 14th, international “Mad Pride” day of resistance. Everyone is encouraged to visit us and vote on their favourite designs.
The winning designs from all 3 categories will be announced on Fri Aug 10th at Noon on gachet.org.
