Gallery Gachet’s Funding Cut: Resolved to Continue Our Work

Gallery Gachet learned last week that after twenty-one years of receiving core funding from the Provincial Ministry of Health our contract with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority is being severed, with ninety days notice. The financial cut amounts to half of the organization’s overall budget, and represents the majority of wage and operational resources.

Aug 1 – Sept 10 GALLERY GACHET CLOSED

Aug 1st – Sept 10th GALLERY CLOSED In August Gallery Gachet will be closed for refurbishments. During this time our scheduled workshops and events are still running (Expressive Arts, Technology Workshop, Stand Up for Mental Health, Volunteer Orientation). We will be open again to the public on September 11th with new exhibition.

Mindful Cellphone Photography Workshop

Saturday, July 25th, 3–5pm In conjunction with the current exhibition Street Sign, artist Quin Martins leads a workshop in the practice of mindful cellphone photography. We love cellphone cameras for their ease in documenting and sharing events, but it can be a distraction.
