Hidden Heroes: Women Survivors of Violence

Curated by BC/Yukon Society of Transition Houses
Note: Closing reception on Friday, April 28, 7-10pm

View the inspirational results of a province-wide juried competition involving students at art colleges and universities. The emphasis of the project is to celebrate the strength and resiliency of female survivors of violence. The exhibition coincides with Prevention of Violence Against Women Week, begun in BC in 1995.

Appreciate the talents of these artists using their creative talents for social justice and elevating women?s quest for equality.  This collaboration between art schools and community agencies is coordinated by the BC/Yukon Society of Transition Houses. BCYSTH represents a membership of 158 transition houses, safe homes, second stage housing and Children Who Witness Abuse programs across BC & Yukon.
