Sinag Bayan Cultural Collective – Performance Art residency

Sinag Bayan is a cultural arts collective that combines performance, theatre, song, spoken work and visual arts, and is dedicated to bringing to light the stories and experiences of the migrant Filipino, while promoting community development, empowerment and solidarity with the Filipino people. Some previous performances include projects at the Firehall Arts Centre, Vancouver Folk Music Festival, Commercial Drive Days and the Chinese-Canadian Cultural Centre.

As part of the Maleta [Suitcase] project, the Sinag Bayan Collective will be working with Filipino performance artists and local artists to present new performance works.

Presented by Gallery Gachet and Kalayaan Centre and is part of the LIVE Performance Art Biennale and the Heart of the City Festival.
