Wake is an audio installation that is based on a fictional murder mystery around the Hastings Park area, which was referred to as “The Pool,” a manning pool for Japanese Canadians during WWII.  A detective interrogates a witness who is called forth to make a testimony around the mysterious death of an elderly woman.

Participants are provided with a CD Walkman and a CD of the narrative. Cindy Mochizuki leads participants through Hastings Park while they listen to the story. Cindy will provide time for questions on the content and process of the project, as well as geographical and historical context to the story.
